Description
Indulge in these easy no-bake Tiramisu Truffles, featuring creamy mascarpone, espresso, and chocolate. Perfect for gifting, parties, or a decadent treat!
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz mascarpone cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon espresso or strong brewed coffee, cooled
- 1/2 cup crushed ladyfingers (or graham crackers as an alternative)
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder, plus extra for dusting
- 6 oz dark or semi-sweet chocolate, melted
- 1 tablespoon butter (optional, for a smoother chocolate coating)
Instructions
- Prepare the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and espresso. Stir until smooth and well blended.
- Add the Dry Ingredients: Fold in the crushed ladyfingers and cocoa powder, mixing until a thick dough-like consistency forms. If the mixture is too soft, refrigerate for 15–20 minutes to firm up.
- Shape the Truffles: Using a small spoon or cookie scoop, portion out small amounts of the mixture and roll them into bite-sized balls. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Chill the Truffles: Refrigerate the truffle balls for at least 30 minutes to firm up before dipping them in chocolate.
- Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate in 20-second intervals, stirring between each until smooth. If using, stir in the butter for a silkier coating.
- Coat the Truffles: Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each chilled truffle into the melted chocolate, ensuring it’s fully coated. Let the excess chocolate drip off, then place back on the parchment paper.
- Final Touches: While the chocolate is still wet, dust the truffles with cocoa powder for the classic tiramisu look. Alternatively, sprinkle crushed ladyfingers on top.
- Set and Serve: Allow the truffles to set at room temperature or in the refrigerator until the chocolate hardens. Once set, they are ready to enjoy!
Notes
- Boozy Twist: Add a teaspoon of coffee liqueur (such as Kahlúa) for extra flavor.
- White Chocolate Coating: Swap the dark chocolate for white chocolate for a sweeter variation.
- Nutty Addition: Roll the truffles in crushed hazelnuts or almonds for added texture.
- Coconut Dusting: Replace cocoa powder with shredded coconut for a different finish.
