Instructions
- Melt Chocolate and Butter: In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the dark chocolate and butter, stirring continuously until smooth. Alternatively, microwave in short intervals, stirring between each.
- Whisk Eggs and Sugar: In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs and caster sugar until pale and fluffy to incorporate air for a chewy texture.
- Combine Mixtures: Slowly pour the slightly cooled melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture, stirring gently to combine.
- Incorporate Dry Ingredients: Sift the plain flour and cocoa powder together, then fold into the wet mixture until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips if using.
