Sweet Alabama Pecan Bread is a moist, nutty, and rich quick bread with a caramel-like flavor from brown sugar and crunchy pecans in every bite. Perfect as a snack, dessert, or breakfast treat, this easy-to-make Southern classic requires no yeast and pairs beautifully with coffee or tea.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ cups chopped pecans

Instructions

  • Preheat & Prep – Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking dish or line with parchment paper.
  • Mix Wet Ingredients – In a large bowl, whisk together brown sugar, granulated sugar, and vegetable oil until combined. Add eggs one at a time, mixing after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  • Combine Dry Ingredients – In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Incorporate – Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Fold in chopped pecans.
  • Bake – Pour batter into prepared baking dish, spreading evenly. Bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
