Salmon with Lemon and Dill

  • Total Time: 20-25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

  • A quick and flavorful Salmon with Lemon and Dill recipe, perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions. Light, healthy, and ready in under 30 minutes!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional, for added color)
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter (optional, for extra richness)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Salmon
Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel to help the seasonings adhere and ensure even cooking.
  2. Season the Fish
Rub each fillet with olive oil, then season with salt, pepper, and paprika (if using). Sprinkle minced garlic and chopped dill over the fillets.
  3. Add Lemon Slices
Place thinly sliced lemon rounds on top of each fillet to infuse the salmon with bright citrusy flavor.
  4. Cook the Salmon
    • Bake: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the fillets on it. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
    • Pan-Sear: Heat a nonstick or cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add olive oil and place the fillets skin-side down. Cook for 4-5 minutes, then flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes.
    • Grill: Preheat the grill to medium heat and lightly oil the grates. Grill the salmon for 4-5 minutes per side, covered.
  5. Serve
Remove from heat and let the salmon rest for a couple of minutes. Optionally, add a small pat of butter for extra flavor. Serve with steamed vegetables, rice, or a fresh salad.

Notes

  • Garlic Butter Version: Melt butter with garlic and drizzle over the salmon before baking.
  • Honey Mustard Glaze: Mix honey and Dijon mustard for a slightly sweet and tangy twist.
  • Spicy Kick: Add red pepper flakes or a dash of cayenne for some heat.
  • Herb Swap: Try fresh parsley, chives, or tarragon instead of dill.
