- 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 lemon, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional, for added color)
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter (optional, for extra richness)
Instructions
- Prepare the Salmon
Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel to help the seasonings adhere and ensure even cooking. - Season the Fish
Rub each fillet with olive oil, then season with salt, pepper, and paprika (if using). Sprinkle minced garlic and chopped dill over the fillets. - Add Lemon Slices
Place thinly sliced lemon rounds on top of each fillet to infuse the salmon with bright citrusy flavor. - Cook the Salmon
- Bake: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the fillets on it. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
- Pan-Sear: Heat a nonstick or cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add olive oil and place the fillets skin-side down. Cook for 4-5 minutes, then flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes.
- Grill: Preheat the grill to medium heat and lightly oil the grates. Grill the salmon for 4-5 minutes per side, covered.
- Serve
Remove from heat and let the salmon rest for a couple of minutes. Optionally, add a small pat of butter for extra flavor. Serve with steamed vegetables, rice, or a fresh salad.
