For the Orange Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons fresh orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Dough

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Stir in melted butter, egg, salt, and orange zest.
  3. Gradually add flour, mixing until a dough forms.
  4. Knead on a floured surface for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1–1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.

Step 2: Make the Filling

  1. Mix softened butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, orange zest, and cinnamon in a small bowl.

Step 3: Roll and Fill the Dough

  1. Roll out risen dough into a 12×18-inch rectangle on a floured surface.
  2. Evenly spread the filling over the dough.
  3. Roll tightly from the long side into a log and slice into 12 equal pieces.
  4. Arrange in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.

Step 4: Second Rise and Bake

  1. Cover and let rise for 30–45 minutes until puffy.
  2. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  3. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until golden brown.

Step 5: Make the Glaze and Serve

  1. Whisk together powdered sugar, orange juice, zest, and vanilla extract.
  2. Drizzle over warm rolls before serving.
