- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 3 tablespoons fresh orange juice
- 1 teaspoon orange zest
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Dough
- In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- Stir in melted butter, egg, salt, and orange zest.
- Gradually add flour, mixing until a dough forms.
- Knead on a floured surface for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1–1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.
Step 2: Make the Filling
- Mix softened butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, orange zest, and cinnamon in a small bowl.
Step 3: Roll and Fill the Dough
- Roll out risen dough into a 12×18-inch rectangle on a floured surface.
- Evenly spread the filling over the dough.
- Roll tightly from the long side into a log and slice into 12 equal pieces.
- Arrange in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
Step 4: Second Rise and Bake
- Cover and let rise for 30–45 minutes until puffy.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until golden brown.
Step 5: Make the Glaze and Serve
- Whisk together powdered sugar, orange juice, zest, and vanilla extract.
- Drizzle over warm rolls before serving.

- Add nuts – Sprinkle chopped pecans or walnuts into the filling.
