Ingredients

Scale

For the Danishes:

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, diced
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp milk

For the Icing (Optional):

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

    • Spoon a small amount of cooled strawberry filling into the center of each pastry.
    • In a small bowl, whisk together egg and milk. Brush the pastry edges with egg wash.
  • Bake

    • Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown and flaky.
    • Remove from oven and let cool on a wire rack.
  • Add the Icing (Optional)

    • In a small bowl, whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
    • Drizzle over cooled Danishes and let set before serving.

Notes

  • Different Fruits: Try raspberries, blueberries, or peaches instead of strawberries.
