Description

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • ½ teaspoon salt (or to taste)

  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice or balsamic vinegar

  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)


Instructions

  • Prepare the Brussels Sprouts – Trim ends, remove wilted leaves, and halve lengthwise.

  • Heat the Pan – Warm olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

  • Sauté the Brussels Sprouts – Place cut side down in a single layer and cook undisturbed for 3–4 minutes until golden-brown.

  • Stir and Add Garlic – Flip, cook another 3–4 minutes, then add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.

  • Season and Finish – Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Drizzle with lemon juice or balsamic vinegar and stir.

 

  • Garnish and Serve – Top with Parmesan if desired. Serve immediately.

  • Bacon & Brussels Sprouts: Cook chopped bacon first, then sauté sprouts in the rendered fat.
