For the Chicken:

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, minced

For the Orange Sauce:

  • ½ cup fresh orange juice (about 2 oranges)
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey (or brown sugar)
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • ½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tsp cornstarch + 1 tbsp water (slurry)

For Garnish (Optional):

 

  • Sliced green onions
  • Sesame seeds
  • Orange zest

Instructions

  • Cook the Chicken – Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground chicken, breaking it apart while cooking. Cook until browned (5-7 minutes). Drain excess liquid if needed.
  • Add Aromatics – Stir in minced garlic and ginger. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Make the Sauce – In a bowl, whisk together orange juice, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, hoisin sauce, and red pepper flakes.
  • Simmer & Thicken – Pour sauce into the skillet. Stir well and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  • Thicken the Sauce – Stir in the cornstarch slurry. Cook for 2 minutes, stirring continuously, until the sauce thickens.

 

  • Serve & Garnish – Remove from heat and serve over rice, noodles, or veggies. Garnish as desired.
