- 4 large sweet potatoes, peeled and sliced into 1/2-inch rounds
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup water (or orange juice for extra flavor)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven – Set oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare the Sweet Potatoes – Peel and slice sweet potatoes into uniform rounds.
- Make the Glaze – In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and stir in brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, vanilla extract, and water (or orange juice). Stir until combined and slightly thickened.
- Coat the Sweet Potatoes – Arrange sweet potato slices in a baking dish and evenly pour the glaze over them.
- Bake to Perfection – Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil, baste potatoes with sauce, and bake uncovered for another 15 minutes until caramelized.
- Serve Warm – Let the sweet potatoes cool slightly before serving to allow the syrup to thicken.
