  • Total Time: 4 hours 10 minutes
  • Yield: 4-6 servings 1x

Description

A silky-smooth and indulgent Coffee Panna Cotta infused with rich espresso flavors. This easy Italian dessert is perfect for coffee lovers and an elegant make-ahead treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons instant espresso powder (or ½ cup strong brewed coffee)
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 ½ teaspoons (1 packet) unflavored gelatin
  • 3 tablespoons cold water

  • Optional: Whipped cream and chocolate shavings for garnish

Instructions

Bloom the Gelatin:

  • In a small bowl, sprinkle gelatin over cold water. Let sit for 5 minutes until softened.

2. Heat the Cream Mixture:

  • In a saucepan over medium heat, combine heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, and espresso powder. Stir until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is warm (but not boiling).

3. Add the Gelatin:

  • Remove from heat and stir in the bloomed gelatin until fully dissolved. Mix in vanilla extract.

4. Strain and Pour:

  • Strain through a fine-mesh sieve for a smooth texture. Pour into ramekins or serving glasses.

5. Chill Until Set:

  • Refrigerate for at least 4 hours until firm with a slight jiggle.

6. Serve and Enjoy:

  • Unmold by dipping ramekins in warm water, or serve in glasses. Garnish with whipped cream and chocolate shavings.

Notes

  • Mocha Panna Cotta: Add 2 tbsp cocoa powder for a chocolatey twist.
  • Dairy-Free: Use coconut cream and almond milk.
  • Honey-Sweetened: Replace sugar with honey or maple syrup.
