Ingredients
Scale
For the Sliders:
- 12 large cheese puffs (such as homemade gougères or store-bought cheese puffs)
- 1 lb ground beef (or your protein of choice)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
For the Toppings:
- 6 slices cheddar or American cheese, cut in half
- ½ cup caramelized onions
- ¼ cup pickles, sliced
- ¼ cup lettuce, shredded
- ¼ cup mayonnaise or preferred sauce
Instructions
- Prepare the Cheese Puffs
- If using store-bought cheese puffs, ensure they are large enough to hold the slider filling. If making homemade gougères, bake them in advance and let them cool completely.
- Cook the Slider Patties
- Preheat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat.
- In a bowl, mix ground beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Form small patties, about the size of your cheese puffs.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until the patties reach your desired doneness.
- Add cheese slices on top of the patties and let them melt.
- Assemble the Sliders
- Slice the cheese puffs in half to create a bun.
- Spread mayonnaise or sauce on the bottom half.
- Place a slider patty on top, followed by caramelized onions, pickles, and lettuce.
- Top with the other half of the cheese puff.
- Serve & Enjoy
- Serve the sliders immediately while warm. Enjoy them with a side of fries or a light salad.
Notes
- Spicy Kick: Add jalapeños and a spicy aioli for a fiery version.
- BBQ Style: Swap the sauce for barbecue sauce and add crispy fried onions.
- Vegetarian Option: Use a black bean or mushroom patty instead of beef.
- Breakfast Version: Use sausage patties and top with a fried egg
