  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 2-3 servings 1x

Description

These Honey Garlic Salmon Bites are a quick and flavorful winter meal, featuring tender salmon chunks caramelized in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce. Perfect for weeknights, this dish is ready in under 30 minutes and pairs well with rice, vegetables, or as an appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb salmon fillets, skinless, cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
  • 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (for thickening)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley or green onions (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Salmon: Pat salmon pieces dry and season lightly with salt and black pepper.
  2. Make the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes.
  3. Sear the Salmon: Heat olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear salmon bites for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  4. Cook the Sauce: In the same skillet, pour in the honey garlic sauce and simmer. Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook until thickened (1-2 minutes).
  5. Combine & Serve: Return salmon to the skillet, coat with sauce, and cook for another minute. Garnish with parsley or green onions and sesame seeds. Serve warm.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, coat salmon bites in cornstarch before frying.
  • Substitute lemon juice with orange juice for a citrusy twist.
  • For a spicier kick, add more red pepper flakes or sriracha.

Storage & Reheating:

  • Refrigeration: Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
  • Reheating: Warm in a skillet over low heat or microwave in 30-second intervals.
