  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Salmon
    • Pat dry the salmon cubes with a paper towel.
    • Lightly season with salt and black pepper.
  2. Make the Honey Garlic Sauce
    • In a small bowl, mix honey, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Set aside.
  3. Cook the Salmon
    • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
    • Add salmon cubes and sear for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
    • Remove salmon from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Simmer the Sauce
    • In the same skillet, add butter and pour in the prepared sauce.
    • Let it simmer for 1-2 minutes, then add the cornstarch slurry to thicken the sauce.
    • Stir in the lemon juice.
  5. Coat the Salmon
    • Return the salmon to the skillet and toss to coat evenly in the sauce.
    • Cook for another 1-2 minutes until fully glazed.
  6. Garnish and Serve
    • Sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions.
    • Serve immediately over rice, quinoa, or with roasted vegetables.

Notes

  • Spicy Kick: Add extra red pepper flakes or a drizzle of sriracha.
  • Citrus Twist: Substitute lemon juice with orange juice for a sweeter tang.
  • Crunchy Texture: Toss in chopped cashews or peanuts before serving.
  • Low-Sodium Option: Use low-sodium soy sauce or coconut aminos.
  • Gluten-Free Alternative: Swap soy sauce with tamari or a gluten-free soy sauce alternative.
