Instructions
1. Prepare the Turnips
- Peel and cube the turnips into small chunks.
- Place them in a large pot of salted water and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until the turnips are fork-tender.
- Drain well and mash until smooth.
2. Mix the Batter
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, mix the mashed turnips with melted butter, beaten egg, flour, baking powder, brown sugar, salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
- Stir until well combined and smooth.
3. Assemble and Bake
