For Thickening:

  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp cold water

For Garnish:

  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

  • Prepare the Sauce
    • In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, red pepper flakes (if using), and water.
  • Add to the Slow Cooker
    • Place the chicken in the slow cooker and pour the teriyaki sauce over it, ensuring even coating.
  • Cook
    • Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours or high for 2-3 hours until the chicken is tender.
  • Shred the Chicken
    • Remove the chicken and shred it with two forks. Return it to the slow cooker.
  • Thicken the Sauce
    • In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with cold water until smooth. Stir into the slow cooker. Cover and cook on high for 15-20 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  • Serve & Garnish
