  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 4 burgers 1x

Description

Teriyaki Parmesan Burgers with American Cheese combine juicy beef patties with savory Parmesan, sweet teriyaki sauce, and melty American cheese. This easy fusion burger recipe is perfect for grilling, weeknight dinners, or cookouts. Ready in just 20 minutes!

Ingredients

Scale

For the burger patties:

  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20 for best juiciness)
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 tablespoons teriyaki sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt

For assembly:

  • 4 slices American cheese
  • 4 burger buns (brioche or sesame seed recommended)
  • 2 tablespoons butter (for toasting buns)
  • Lettuce, tomato, and onion (optional toppings)
  • Additional teriyaki sauce (for drizzling)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Patties:
In a large bowl, gently mix ground beef, Parmesan, teriyaki sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Avoid over-mixing.

2. Shape the Patties:
Divide into 4 equal portions, form into ½-inch thick patties, and press a small indentation in the center of each.

3. Cook the Burgers:
Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Lightly oil the surface and cook patties for 3-4 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F for well-done (145°F for medium).

4. Add the Cheese:
During the last minute of cooking, top each patty with American cheese. Cover with a lid or tent with foil to melt.

5. Toast the Buns:
Spread butter on the cut sides of the buns and toast in a skillet or on the grill until golden brown.

6. Assemble the Burgers:
Layer lettuce on the bottom bun, add the cheesy patty, followed by tomato, onion, and an extra drizzle of teriyaki sauce if desired. Top with the second bun and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Different Cheese Options: Swap American cheese for Swiss, provolone, or cheddar.
  • Protein Alternatives: Use ground chicken or turkey for a leaner version.
  • Spicy Variation: Add Sriracha or red pepper flakes for heat.

  • Pineapple Addition: A grilled pineapple slice pairs beautifully with the teriyaki flavor.
