Beef:

  • 1 lb (450g) flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece of ginger, grated

Vegetables:

  • 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 carrot, julienned

Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey or brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch (to thicken)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Noodles
    • Cook noodles according to package instructions. Drain and rinse with cold water to prevent sticking. Set aside.
  • Marinate the Beef
    • In a bowl, toss the sliced beef with cornstarch. Let sit for 5 minutes to help create a crispy texture when cooked.
  • Make the Sauce
    • In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, rice vinegar, red pepper flakes, sesame oil, water, and cornstarch. Set aside.
  • Cook the Beef
    • Heat 1 tbsp of vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over high heat.
    • Add the beef in a single layer and sear for 2-3 minutes per side until browned and crispy. Remove and set aside.
  • Stir-Fry the Vegetables
    • Add the remaining 1 tbsp of vegetable oil to the pan.
    • Sauté garlic, ginger, bell pepper, and carrot for 2 minutes until slightly tender.
  • Combine Everything
    • Return the beef to the pan and pour in the sauce.
    • Stir well and simmer for 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens.
    • Add the cooked noodles and toss until evenly coated.
  • Serve
    • Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot and enjoy!
