Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz (225g) rice or egg noodles
  • 12 oz (340g) beef (sirloin, flank, or ribeye), thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce (divided)
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey or brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 1 cup snap peas or broccoli florets
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • Red pepper flakes or sriracha (optional, for heat)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Beef

  • In a bowl, mix the thinly sliced beef with 1 tablespoon of soy sauce and cornstarch. Let it marinate for 10-15 minutes to tenderize.

Step 2: Cook the Noodles

  • Cook the noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.

Step 3: Make the Sauce

  • In a small bowl, whisk together the remaining 1 tablespoon soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, and sesame oil. Set aside.

Step 4: Stir-Fry the Ingredients

  • Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  • Add the beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  • Add another tablespoon of oil, then stir-fry the garlic and ginger for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Toss in the bell pepper, carrot, and snap peas. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until slightly tender.

Step 5: Combine Everything

  • Return the beef to the pan along with the cooked noodles.
  • Pour the sauce over everything and toss well to coat.
  • Stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes until everything is well combined and heated through.

Step 6: Garnish and Serve

  • Sprinkle with green onions, sesame seeds, and red pepper flakes if desired.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • Protein Swap: Try using chicken, shrimp, or tofu instead of beef.
  • Vegetable Boost: Add mushrooms, baby corn, or bok choy for more variety.
  • Low-Carb Option: Use zucchini noodles or shirataki noodles instead of regular noodles.
  • Gluten-Free Adaptation: Use tamari instead of soy sauce and gluten-free noodles.
