Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz beef (sirloin, flank steak, or ribeye), thinly sliced
  • 8 oz egg noodles or rice noodles
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece ginger, grated
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced (optional)
  • 1 cup broccoli florets (optional)
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey or brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water or beef broth
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Ingredients

  1. Thinly slice the beef against the grain and toss with 1/2 tbsp soy sauce and cornstarch. Marinate for 10 minutes.
  2. Cook the noodles according to package instructions, drain, and set aside.
  3. Mix the sauce: In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, water or broth, and red pepper flakes.

Step 2: Cook the Beef 4. Heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil in a wok or large pan over medium-high heat. 5. Add the beef and cook for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove from the pan and set aside.

Step 3: Sauté the Vegetables 6. In the same pan, add another tbsp of oil. Sauté garlic, ginger, and onion for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. 7. Add bell pepper and broccoli, stir-frying for another 2-3 minutes.

Step 4: Combine Everything 8. Return the beef to the pan and pour in the prepared sauce. 9. Stir well and let the sauce thicken slightly. 10. Add the cooked noodles, tossing everything together until well coated. 11. Drizzle with sesame oil and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

  • Spicy Kick: Add more red pepper flakes or a drizzle of sriracha.
  • Extra Veggies: Try carrots, snap peas, or mushrooms.
  • Different Protein: Substitute beef with chicken, shrimp, or tofu.
  • Gluten-Free: Use tamari instead of soy sauce and rice noodles instead of egg noodles.
