  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

Steakhouse Garlic Butter Mushrooms are a rich, savory side dish featuring tender mushrooms sautéed in garlic-infused butter and herbs. Perfect with steak, chicken, or pasta, this gourmet-style recipe is easy, flavorful, and restaurant-worthy.

Ingredients

Scale

1 lb (450g) cremini or white button mushrooms, cleaned and trimmed

3 tablespoons unsalted butter

1 tablespoon olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves (or 1 teaspoon dried thyme)

1 tablespoon soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce (optional for umami boost)

Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Mushrooms: Halve or quarter large mushrooms for even cooking. Pat them dry to remove moisture and encourage browning.

  2. Heat the Pan: In a large skillet, melt the butter with olive oil over medium-high heat.

  3. Sauté the Mushrooms: Add mushrooms in a single layer and let sear undisturbed for 2–3 minutes. Stir occasionally and cook for 8–10 minutes until browned and tender.

  4. Add Garlic and Herbs: Stir in garlic and thyme. Cook for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.

  5. Add Umami (Optional): Stir in soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce to coat mushrooms evenly.

  6. Season and Finish: Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove from heat and garnish with parsley.

Notes

  • Storage: Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

  • Reheating: Reheat in a skillet over medium heat or microwave in 30-second intervals.
