Ingredients
Scale
- 4 bone-in or boneless pork chops (about 1-inch thick)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Sear the Pork Chops
- Pat the pork chops dry and season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Sear the pork chops for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown. Transfer to the slow cooker.
- Make the Garlic Parmesan Sauce
- In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and sauté minced garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in the chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits from the pan.
- Stir in heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning. Mix well.
- Slow Cook
- Pour the sauce over the pork chops in the slow cooker.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours, until the pork chops are tender.
- Thicken the Sauce (Optional)
- If the sauce is too thin, mix 1 tablespoon cornstarch with 2 tablespoons water and stir into the sauce.
- Cook for another 15 minutes on high until thickened.
- Serve & Garnish
- Plate the pork chops and spoon sauce over the top.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with your favorite side dish.
Notes
- Boneless vs. Bone-In: Both work; bone-in tends to be juicier.
- Lighter Version: Use half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
- Cheese Swap: Substitute Parmesan with Pecorino Romano.
- Extra Flavor: Add mushrooms or spinach.
- Low-Carb Option: Serve over cauliflower mash or roasted zucchini.
- Prep Time: 10 minutes
- Cook Time: 6-7 hours (low) or 3-4 hours (high)
