Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Ingredients
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Brown the sliced Italian sausage until cooked through, then remove and set aside.
Step 2: Cook the Chicken
- In the same skillet, add the remaining olive oil.
- Season the chicken with salt, black pepper, and paprika.
- Sear the chicken for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
Step 3: Sauté the Vegetables
- In the same skillet, add the diced onion and cook until softened.
- Stir in the garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
- Add the sliced bell peppers and cook for 5 minutes until slightly softened.
Step 4: Simmer the Sauce
- Pour in the crushed tomatoes and chicken broth.
- Stir in oregano, basil, red pepper flakes, and the cooked sausage.
- Return the chicken to the skillet and spoon sauce over it.
- Cover and let simmer for 15-20 minutes until the chicken is fully cooked.
Step 5: Serve and Garnish
- Sprinkle fresh parsley and Parmesan cheese on top.
- Serve hot with pasta, rice, or a side of crusty bread.
