  • 4 salmon fillets (skin-on, about 6 oz each)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tsp cornstarch + 1 tbsp water (optional, for thickening)
  • Chopped parsley or green onions for garnish
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Salmon
    • Pat salmon fillets dry with a paper towel.
    • Season both sides with salt and black pepper.
  2. Sear the Salmon
    • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
    • Place salmon skin-side down and cook for 4-5 minutes until crispy.
    • Flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes. Transfer to a plate.
  3. Make the Honey Garlic Sauce
    • In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add butter.
    • Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
    • Add honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes. Stir well.
    • (Optional) Mix cornstarch with water and add to thicken the sauce.
  4. Coat the Salmon
    • Return salmon fillets to the pan and spoon sauce over them.
    • Cook for 1-2 more minutes until well-coated and caramelized.
  5. Serve & Enjoy
    • Garnish with parsley or green onions.
    • Serve with lemon wedges and your favorite sides.
