- 4 salmon fillets (skin-on, about 6 oz each)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 tsp cornstarch + 1 tbsp water (optional, for thickening)
- Chopped parsley or green onions for garnish
- Lemon wedges for serving
Instructions
- Prepare the Salmon
- Pat salmon fillets dry with a paper towel.
- Season both sides with salt and black pepper.
- Sear the Salmon
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Place salmon skin-side down and cook for 4-5 minutes until crispy.
- Flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes. Transfer to a plate.
- Make the Honey Garlic Sauce
- In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add butter.
- Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes. Stir well.
- (Optional) Mix cornstarch with water and add to thicken the sauce.
- Coat the Salmon
- Return salmon fillets to the pan and spoon sauce over them.
- Cook for 1-2 more minutes until well-coated and caramelized.
- Serve & Enjoy
- Garnish with parsley or green onions.
- Serve with lemon wedges and your favorite sides.
