Ingredients
Scale
- 12 oz pasta (penne, fettuccine, or spaghetti)
- 1 lb flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 bell pepper (red or green), sliced
- 1 small onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Prepare the Steak: Season the sliced steak with salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear steak for 2-3 minutes per side until browned. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- Sauté the Vegetables: In the same skillet, melt butter and add sliced onion and bell pepper. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until softened. Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Make the Sauce: Pour in beef broth and soy sauce, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Simmer for 2 minutes. Reduce heat and stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens.
- Combine Everything: Return cooked steak to skillet and mix well. Add drained pasta and toss until fully coated in sauce. Cook for another 2 minutes to blend flavors.
- Serve and Enjoy: Garnish with fresh parsley and red pepper flakes if desired. Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
- Protein Swap: Use chicken or shrimp instead of steak.
- Spice Level: Adjust red pepper flakes or add chili powder for extra heat.
- Cheese Options: Substitute Parmesan with Pecorino Romano.
- Vegetables: Add mushrooms, zucchini, or spinach for extra nutrients.
