  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4-6 servings 1x

Description

These Ooey-Gooey Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza Pockets combine juicy ground beef, crispy bacon, melty cheese, and a tangy sauce, all wrapped in golden, flaky dough. Perfect for quick meals, parties, or game day snacks!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 6 slices bacon
  • 1/2 cup onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 1/4 cup pickles, chopped
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 package refrigerated pizza dough
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare – Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cook the Bacon – In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Transfer to a plate lined with paper towels and crumble once cooled.
  3. Brown the Beef – In the same skillet, add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  4. Sauté the Aromatics – Add diced onion and minced garlic to the beef. Sauté until softened.
  5. Flavor the Filling – Stir in Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, mustard, chopped pickles, salt, and pepper. Mix well and remove from heat.
  6. Prepare the Dough – Roll out refrigerated pizza dough on a lightly floured surface. Cut into equal rectangles.
  7. Assemble the Pockets – Spoon the cheeseburger filling onto one half of each dough rectangle. Sprinkle cheddar and mozzarella on top.
  8. Seal the Pockets – Fold dough over filling and press edges together. Use a fork to crimp the edges for a secure seal.
  9. Egg Wash and Topping – Brush tops with beaten egg and sprinkle sesame seeds if desired.
  10. Bake to Perfection – Place pockets on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown.
  11. Serve and Enjoy – Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy with extra ketchup, mustard, or your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Spicy Kick – Add diced jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce.
  • BBQ Twist – Swap ketchup and mustard for BBQ sauce.
  • Different Cheeses – Try Swiss, pepper jack, or provolone.
  • Vegetarian Option – Use a plant-based alternative for ground beef.
  • Dough Choices – Use crescent roll dough, puff pastry, or homemade pizza dough.
