Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 6 slices bacon
- 1/2 cup onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 tbsp mustard
- 1/4 cup pickles, chopped
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 package refrigerated pizza dough
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare – Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cook the Bacon – In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Transfer to a plate lined with paper towels and crumble once cooled.
- Brown the Beef – In the same skillet, add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Sauté the Aromatics – Add diced onion and minced garlic to the beef. Sauté until softened.
- Flavor the Filling – Stir in Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, mustard, chopped pickles, salt, and pepper. Mix well and remove from heat.
- Prepare the Dough – Roll out refrigerated pizza dough on a lightly floured surface. Cut into equal rectangles.
- Assemble the Pockets – Spoon the cheeseburger filling onto one half of each dough rectangle. Sprinkle cheddar and mozzarella on top.
- Seal the Pockets – Fold dough over filling and press edges together. Use a fork to crimp the edges for a secure seal.
- Egg Wash and Topping – Brush tops with beaten egg and sprinkle sesame seeds if desired.
- Bake to Perfection – Place pockets on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown.
- Serve and Enjoy – Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy with extra ketchup, mustard, or your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- Spicy Kick – Add diced jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce.
- BBQ Twist – Swap ketchup and mustard for BBQ sauce.
- Different Cheeses – Try Swiss, pepper jack, or provolone.
- Vegetarian Option – Use a plant-based alternative for ground beef.
- Dough Choices – Use crescent roll dough, puff pastry, or homemade pizza dough.
