- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour (or bread flour)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon instant yeast
- ¾ cup warm water (adjust as needed)
- 2 tablespoons oil (vegetable or olive oil)
Instructions
Prepare the Dough
- In a bowl, mix flour, salt, sugar, and yeast.
- Gradually add warm water while stirring to form a slightly sticky dough.
- Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Cover and let rest in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
2. Shape and Second Rise
- Punch down the risen dough to remove air bubbles.
- Shape into a round or oval loaf.
- Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
3. Cook on the Stovetop
- Heat a heavy-bottomed skillet over low heat and lightly grease it.
- Place the dough in the pan, cover with a tight-fitting lid, and cook for 15–20 minutes.
- Flip the bread and cook for another 10–15 minutes until golden brown.
- Tap the bread—if it sounds hollow, it’s done.
4. Cool and Serve
- Transfer to a wire rack and let cool for at least 10 minutes.
- Slice and enjoy!
