- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup white chocolate chips
- ½ cup chopped pecans
Instructions
- Preheat & Prepare: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- Cream Butter & Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, beat softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add Eggs & Vanilla: Mix in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
- Combine Wet & Dry: Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in Chocolate & Pecans: Gently fold in chocolate chips and chopped pecans.
- Scoop & Bake: Drop dough balls onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden.
- Cool & Serve: Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
- Nut-Free: Omit pecans for a classic chocolate chip cookie.
- Dark Chocolate Lovers: Swap white chocolate chips for dark chocolate chips.
- Coconut Twist: Add ½ cup shredded coconut for extra texture.
- Spiced Version: Mix in ½ teaspoon of cinnamon for warmth.
- Chewy Texture Tip: More brown sugar and slightly underbaking will make cookies extra chewy.
