Ingredients

Scale
  • Dry Ingredients:
    • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
    • 2 ½ teaspoons baking powder
    • ½ teaspoon salt
  • Wet Ingredients:
    • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
    • 1 ¾ cups granulated sugar
    • 4 large eggs
    • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
    • 1 cup whole milk
  • Chocolate Swirl:
    • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
    • 2 tablespoons hot water

Instructions

. Prepare the Cake Batter

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch loaf or bundt pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy (3-5 minutes).
  4. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients, alternating with milk, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Mix until just combined.

2. Create the Marble Effect

  1. In a small bowl, mix cocoa powder with hot water until smooth.
  2. Divide the batter in half. Mix cocoa paste into one half until fully incorporated.
  3. Spoon alternating dollops of vanilla and chocolate batter into the pan.
  4. Use a knife or skewer to swirl gently for a marbled effect (avoid overmixing).

3. Bake the Cake

  1. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  2. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
