  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
  • ½ cup chicken broth or water
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (slurry)

For Garnish (Optional):

  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions, chopped

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken
    • Pat the chicken dry with paper towels and cut into bite-sized pieces.
    • In a bowl, toss the chicken with cornstarch, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
  2. Cook the Chicken
    • Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
    • Add the chicken in a single layer and cook for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  3. Make the Honey Garlic Sauce
    • In the same pan, reduce heat to medium and add minced garlic and grated ginger. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
    • Add soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, red pepper flakes (if using), and chicken broth. Stir to combine.
    • Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer and cook for 2 minutes.
    • Stir in the cornstarch slurry and let the sauce thicken for another 1–2 minutes.
  4. Combine and Serve
    • Return the cooked chicken to the pan and toss to coat in the sauce.
    • Let it simmer for an additional minute until fully glazed.
    • Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
    • Serve immediately over rice, noodles, or steamed vegetables.
