Description
A quick and easy homemade honey mustard dipping sauce that perfectly balances sweetness and tanginess. This versatile condiment pairs well with chicken tenders, pretzels, sandwiches, and more. Made with simple pantry staples, it’s fresher and more flavorful than store-bought versions.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (or lemon juice)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Combine Ingredients – In a medium mixing bowl, add the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, yellow mustard, and honey. Stir until well combined.
- Add Seasonings – Pour in the apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Whisk everything together until smooth and creamy.
- Adjust to Taste – Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning as needed. Add more honey for sweetness, extra mustard for tanginess, or a dash of vinegar for acidity.
- Chill and Serve – Refrigerate the sauce for at least 15 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld together. Serve with your favorite snacks or meals.
Notes
- Spicy Honey Mustard – Add 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper or a few dashes of hot sauce.
- Greek Yogurt Version – Replace half (or all) of the mayonnaise with Greek yogurt for a lighter option.
- Smoky Honey Mustard – Stir in 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika for a subtle smoky flavor.
- Maple Mustard – Swap honey for pure maple syrup for a different sweetness profile.
