Instructions
Prepare the Crust (Skip if Using Pre-Made)
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour and salt.
- Cut in cold butter with a pastry cutter or fork until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Gradually add ice water, one tablespoon at a time, until the dough comes together.
- Form into a disc, wrap in plastic, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Roll out on a floured surface, fit into a 9-inch pie dish, and trim edges.
- Pre-bake at 375°F (190°C) for 10 minutes with pie weights or dried beans.
Prepare the Filling
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter or heat oil.
- Sauté onion until translucent (about 3 minutes).

Assemble the Quiche
