Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Dough
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder (if using).
- Gradually add milk and olive oil, stirring until a soft dough forms.
- Knead lightly on a floured surface for about 1 minute until smooth.
Step 2: Shape the Bread
- Roll out the dough into a rough circle, about ¼-inch thick.
- Evenly sprinkle shredded cheese and fresh herbs over one half of the dough.
- Fold the other half over the cheese and gently press the edges to seal.
Step 3: Cook on the Stovetop
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and melt the butter.
- Place the folded dough in the skillet and cook for about 4–5 minutes per side, pressing lightly with a spatula, until golden brown and crisp.
- Cover the pan for the last minute to ensure the cheese melts fully.
Step 4: Serve and Enjoy
- Remove from skillet, let cool for a minute, then slice and serve warm.
