- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup chicken broth (or white wine)
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tbsp lemon juice (optional)
Instructions
1. Sauté the Shrimp
- Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add shrimp, season with paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 2 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
- Remove shrimp from the pan and set aside.
2. Make the Creamy Garlic Sauce
- In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in chicken broth (or white wine) and let it simmer for 1-2 minutes to reduce slightly.
- Lower the heat and stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese, stirring until smooth.
3. Combine and Finish
- Return shrimp to the pan, coating them in the creamy garlic sauce.
- Let cook for 1-2 more minutes until heated through.
- Add red pepper flakes, parsley, and a splash of lemon juice for extra freshness.
- Serve immediately over pasta, rice, or crusty bread.
