Description

“Make this easy chocolate tiramisu in just 20 minutes! A no-bake Italian dessert with layers of coffee-soaked ladyfingers, creamy mascarpone, and rich chocolate. Perfect for beginners!”

Ingredients

Scale

For the Chocolate Tiramisu:

  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee (cooled)
  • ¼ cup coffee liqueur (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder (for dusting)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 ounces mascarpone cheese (softened)
  • 24 ladyfinger biscuits (savoiardi)
  • ½ cup dark chocolate shavings or cocoa powder (for garnish)

For the Chocolate Layer:

  • ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ¼ cup heavy cream

Instructions

  • Prepare the Chocolate Mixture:

    • Heat ¼ cup of heavy cream in a small saucepan until warm (but not boiling).
    • Remove from heat, add the chocolate chips, and stir until smooth. Set aside to cool.
  • Make the Mascarpone Filling:

    • In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
    • Gently fold in the softened mascarpone cheese until smooth and creamy.
  • Dip and Layer the Ladyfingers:

    • Combine the cooled brewed coffee and coffee liqueur (if using) in a shallow dish.
    • Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture and arrange them in a single layer in a 9×9-inch dish.
  • Assemble the Tiramisu:

    • Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
    • Drizzle half of the melted chocolate mixture over the mascarpone layer.
    • Add another layer of dipped ladyfingers and repeat the mascarpone and chocolate layers.
  • Chill and Serve:

    • Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours (overnight is best).
    • Before serving, dust with cocoa powder and sprinkle chocolate shavings on top.

Notes

  • Storage: Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Freeze for up to 1 month and thaw overnight in the fridge before serving.
  • Sogginess Prevention: Dip ladyfingers quickly into coffee to avoid oversaturation.
  • Substitutions: Use cream cheese instead of mascarpone, or try sponge cake instead of ladyfingers.
