  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

For the Stir-Fry:

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • ½ onion, sliced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Beef

    • Slice the beef thinly against the grain.
    • Toss with cornstarch, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Marinate for 10–15 minutes.
  • Make the Sauce

    • In a small bowl, mix all sauce ingredients until well combined. Set aside.
  • Cook the Beef

    • Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
    • Sear the beef for 2–3 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
  • Stir-Fry the Vegetables

    • Add the remaining 1 tablespoon oil to the pan.
    • Stir-fry bell peppers, onion, garlic, and ginger for about 3 minutes.
    • Add red pepper flakes if using.
  • Combine and Finish

    • Return the beef to the pan and pour in the sauce.
    • Stir and cook for 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
    • Garnish with green onions.
  • Serve
