Ingredients

Scale

For the Shrimp:

  • 1 lb medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

For the Bang Bang Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 12 tablespoons sriracha (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional, for added sweetness)
    For the Pasta:

    • 12 oz spaghetti (or preferred pasta)
    • 2 tablespoons butter
    • 3 garlic cloves, minced
    • 1/4 cup pasta water (reserved from cooking)
    • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Prep the Shrimp:
    • Pat shrimp dry with paper towels.
    • Toss shrimp with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper in a medium bowl.
  • Cook the Shrimp:
    • Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add shrimp in a single layer.
    • Cook for 2–3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
  • Prepare the Bang Bang Sauce:
    • In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, and honey (if using).
  • Cook the Pasta:
    • Boil a large pot of salted water. Cook pasta to al dente according to package instructions. Reserve 1/4 cup of pasta water before draining.
  • Combine Everything:
    • In the skillet used for shrimp, melt butter over medium heat. Sauté minced garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.
    • Stir in reserved pasta water and Bang Bang sauce to create a creamy base.
    • Toss pasta in the sauce until coated. Gently fold in cooked shrimp.
  • Serve:
    • Transfer pasta to plates or a serving bowl. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • Protein Variations: Substitute shrimp with chicken, scallops, or tofu.
  • Vegetarian Option: Add roasted vegetables like zucchini or bell peppers instead of shrimp.
  • Spice Level: Adjust sriracha to your preferred heat level or add red pepper flakes.
  • Storage: Keep leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet with a splash of water or broth.
  • Gluten-Free Option: Use gluten-free pasta and check ingredient labels for gluten-free sweet chili sauce.
