Description
Crispy and flavorful air fryer turnip fries are a healthy, low-carb alternative to traditional potato fries. Easy to make, keto-friendly, and perfect as a snack or side dish.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 medium turnips, peeled and cut into fry-sized sticks
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for added spice)
Instructions
- Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 3-5 minutes to ensure even cooking and a crispier texture.
- Prepare the Turnips: Peel the turnips and cut them into evenly sized sticks, similar to French fries, for even cooking.
- Season the Fries: In a large bowl, toss the turnip sticks with olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and any additional seasonings you prefer.
- Air Fry the Turnip Fries: Arrange the seasoned turnip fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding to allow proper air circulation. Cook for 15-18 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the fries are golden brown and crispy.
- Serve and Enjoy: Remove the fries from the air fryer and serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ranch, garlic aioli, or ketchup.
Notes
- Parmesan Turnip Fries: Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the fries after cooking for an extra savory touch.
- Herb-Infused Fries: Add dried or fresh herbs like rosemary or thyme for additional flavor.
- Spicy Turnip Fries: Increase the cayenne pepper or add chili powder for extra heat.
- Lemon-Garlic Fries: Toss with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and extra garlic powder before serving.
