  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

A rich and creamy one-pan tortellini dish made with tender chicken, crisp broccoli, and a luscious garlic Parmesan sauce. Perfect for busy weeknights and packed with comforting flavor in just 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

  • 2 cups broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)

  • 1 cup chicken broth

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1 package (about 9 oz) refrigerated cheese tortellini

  • 1 tablespoon butter (optional, for extra richness)

  • Crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for garnish)

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Cook the Chicken
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season chicken with salt and pepper. Cook for 5–6 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and set aside.

  • Sauté the Garlic and Seasonings
In the same skillet, add garlic and Italian seasoning. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.

  • Add Broccoli and Liquids
Stir in broccoli, chicken broth, and heavy cream. Bring to a simmer and cook for 4–5 minutes, until broccoli softens.

  • Add Tortellini
Add cheese tortellini. Simmer uncovered for 6–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender and sauce begins to thicken.

  • Add Parmesan and Chicken
Stir in Parmesan cheese until smooth. Return chicken to skillet and simmer 2–3 minutes to combine.

  • Finish and Serve
Add butter if desired. Garnish with parsley and red pepper flakes. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Storage: Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

  • Reheating: Warm on stovetop with a splash of broth or cream, or microwave in intervals.

  • Tip: Use full-fat cream and add Parmesan slowly to avoid curdling.

  • Customizations: Swap in shrimp or sausage, or add mushrooms, spinach, or sun-dried tomatoes.
