  • Total Time: 30-35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

Crispy, juicy, and packed with bold spicy flavor, these air fryer buffalo wings are a healthier alternative to deep frying. Perfect for game day, parties, or a quick weeknight treat, they cook in just 20 minutes and deliver the ultimate crunch!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs chicken wings, split into flats and drumettes
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder (for extra crispiness)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)
  • 1 cup buffalo sauce (e.g., Frank’s RedHot)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

1. Prepare the Wings

  • Pat the wings dry with paper towels to ensure crispiness.
  • In a large bowl, toss the wings with baking powder, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.

2. Preheat the Air Fryer

  • Set the air fryer to 380°F (193°C) and preheat for 3 minutes.

3. Air Fry the Wings

  • Arrange wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket, avoiding overcrowding.
  • Cook at 380°F for 18–20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  • Increase the temperature to 400°F (204°C) and cook for an additional 2–3 minutes for extra crispiness.

4. Toss in Buffalo Sauce

  • In a bowl, mix buffalo sauce with melted butter.
  • Toss cooked wings in the sauce until evenly coated.

5. Serve Immediately

  • Serve with celery sticks, carrot sticks, and ranch or blue cheese dressing.

Notes

  • Honey Buffalo Wings – Add 1 tablespoon of honey to the sauce for a sweet-heat balance.
  • Garlic Parmesan Wings – Toss wings in melted butter, garlic, and Parmesan instead of buffalo sauce.
  • BBQ Buffalo Wings – Mix buffalo sauce with BBQ sauce for a smoky twist.
