Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large apples (Honeycrisp, Fuji, or Gala work well)
- 1 tablespoon melted butter or coconut oil
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
- 1 tablespoon chopped nuts (pecans, walnuts, or almonds, optional)
- 1 tablespoon raisins or dried cranberries (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Apples: Wash, core, and slice apples into wedges or rings. Peeling is optional.
- Season: In a mixing bowl, toss apple slices with melted butter, honey, cinnamon, vanilla, and nutmeg until well coated.
- Preheat Air Fryer: Set the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and allow it to warm up for 2-3 minutes.
- Cook: Place the apples in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 8-10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the apples are tender and slightly caramelized.
- Serve: Sprinkle with chopped nuts and dried fruit if desired. Enjoy warm on their own or with your favorite accompaniments.
Notes
- Sweeter Option: Add a light sprinkle of brown sugar before cooking.
- Savory Twist: Skip the cinnamon and add a pinch of sea salt and black pepper.
- Extra Crunch: Toss with granola or serve with crushed graham crackers.
- Dairy-Free: Use coconut oil instead of butter.
